Frivolous Lawsuit Tracker 👨‍⚖️

The long harm of the law

Available Domain: Frivoloss.com

💡 TLDR: A platform for helping businesses to track and proactively fight frivolous lawsuits

1. Problem/Opportunity

The Problem/Opportunity: The United States. It’s the land of opportunity, of freedom and of the frivolous lawsuit.

Everyday companies are with bogus lawsuits, like ADA title III lawsuits relating to website accessibility. They invariably settle these lawsuits since, according to the National Federation of Independent Business, frivolous lawsuit cases cost small companies an average of $100,000 to fight. So it’s time to solve it.

Market Size: Every year excessive tort costs (that’s lawyer speak for frivolous lawsuits) sums up to an estimated $589 billion in the United States.

2. Solution

The Idea: A platform for helping businesses to track and proactively fight frivolous lawsuits

How it Works:

  • Businesses sign up and the platform monitors lawsuits being filed across the USA, identifying frivolous ones for which the business could be targeted.

  • The business is warned about these potential lawsuits and is given guidance on the steps they need to take to avoid getting sued

Go-to-market: Identify a specific lawsuit, offer to help companies to protect themselves against it for free and build up a lead book that way

Monetisation: Monthly subscription fee

Startup Costs: Hiring a lawyer here will likely be the biggest expense

3. How You’ll Get Rich 💰

Hold: The play here would be to license the technology to law firms out there who can get in on this, protect their clients and earn money from them in the process

DRUNK BUSINESS IDEA

Fridge Time Tracker

Everyone’s obsessed with their screen time these days. Monitoring it. Trying to reduce it. But what about the time we spend at the fridge?

Well with our new app you can track your fridge time to make sure you’re not spending too long rummaging for snacks everyday…

JUST THE TIP

Trend 📈: Homeschooling is Growing Fast

The Washington Post collected data from nearly 7,000 thousand school districts across the USA to study the make up of public, private and homeschooling across the USA.

And what did they find? That homeschooling has absolutely exploded in recent years in popularity.

This presents lots of opportunities for business building, like software platforms for homeschooling or test prep platforms for homeschooled kids.

THE MONEYSHOT

Making $200k in 6 Months on Autopilot

In a very early edition of Half Baked (the OGs will remember) we broke down an idea to build a morning routines website, one where you broke down the morning routines of the rich and famous and made bank from affiliate links.

Well it turns out Hamza Alamtab had a similar idea…routines.club.

It’s a website that covers the routines of influential people like Andrew Huberman, Andrew Wilkinson, Peter Attia, Tim Ferriss and so on. He’s only broken down the routines of a small number of influencers, but he’s already killing it.

Back in Dec 2023 the site was getting around 40k visitors per month and was on track to do $200k EBITDA just through affiliate revenue.

Today the site is getting around 130k visitors per month, with no signs of slowing down.

In fact he plans to build it into to +$100m business.

We’re rooting for you Hamza!
