💡 TLDR: An AI platform to protect people against phone scams
1. Problem/Opportunity❓
The Problem/Opportunity: We’ve all been on the receiving end of a scam phone call in our time. And some scammers really do their research.
Unfortunately though many people, particularly elderly people, get caught out by phone scammers pretending to be their bank, the FTC and so on. In 2023 victims lost a reported $2.5bn to phone scams, losing $1,480 on average. And this problem will only get worse with AI. So let’s build a product to solve this problem.
Market Size: The global fraud detection and prevention market size was valued at $44bn in 2023.
2. Solution ✅
The Idea: An AI platform to protect people against phone scams
How it Works:
The users signs up to the platform and downloads the app
The app contains information on popular scams for users to be on the lookout for based on their location
When the user gets a phone call that they suspect to be a scam they simply merge the call with an AI agent from the platform. The AI agent can then ask probing questions to determine whether the call is from a scammer or not and keeps the victim informed via text message in the app
Over time the platform could evolve to protect against other forms of fraud such as email phishing
Go-to-market: start by selling to individuals, then sell to the telecom companies to include as standard
Monetisation: Charge per call where the AI agent is brought in
Startup Costs: You’d need to raise a few thousand dollars to get this off the ground
3. How You’ll Get Rich 💰
Exit Multiple: A sticky SaaS product like this could sell for c.5x forward revenue

Whiskey, in particular, is experiencing significant growth, with the number of US craft distilleries quadrupling in the past decade. Younger generations are moving from beer to cocktails, boosting whiskey's popularity.
That’s not all.
Whiskey's tangible nature, market resilience, and Vinovest’s strategic approach make whiskey a smart addition to any diversified portfolio.

Trend 📈: Why Everyone is Freaking Out over Microplastics
Microplastics are everywhere. In one recent study, microplastics were found in every single one of 62 placentas studied. In another, they were found in every artery studied. And they have been linked to a number of health problems. They double the risk of stroke or heart attack, can disrupt the gut biome, lower sperm quality and testosterone and impair learning and memory. And the public are starting to worry.
Many huge businesses are going to be built around this trend.
Business Opportunities:
Marketplace for microplastic-free products
Microplastic detoxification therapies
Microplastic-free certification business
THE MONEYSHOT
Making +$10m Selling Swords Online
Back in March 2022 Isaac Medeiros had 0 subscribers on YouTube.
Today, his channel Mini Katana has 11m subscribers and is on course to become a +$50m DTC business.
This is his story.
Back in 2020, Isaac came across a Japanese letter opener in a store and bought it for $50. But the second he brought it home…it broke. Bummer. But he liked the product so much this inspired him to sell higher quality mini swords.
But Isaac immediately ran into a problem. Acquiring customers.
Platforms like Meta don’t allow items like swords to be advertised on their apps.So Isaac made a choice.
To go all in on video content.
He used viral shorts drive customer acquisition and reduce advertising costs, while long-form educational content helped to convert users.
This strategy worked incredibly well and as his audience grew on TikTok and YouTube, so too did their sales.
In 2021, with 1m (TikTok + YouTube) subscribers, they did $2.5m in sales. In 2022, with 2m subscribers, they did $8.5m. In 2023, with 6m subscribers, they likely did over $20m in top line sales.
In Isaac's mind, Mini Katana is a media-company monetizing through swords. It’s a content-first company and content-first companies will dominate over the next decade.
Just you watch.
